DMARC for Nonprofits

How are you protecting your donors and assets from email fraud?

Nonprofit organizations like yours aren’t immune from cyberattacks, which use email fraud as the primary attack vector. Like for-profit organizations, nonprofits manage and store massive amounts of personally identifiable information, including donor data.

That’s why it’s critical to understand and implement DMARC as a best practice to defend your brand’s integrity and overall security posture. Without DMARC, criminals can send emails that seem to be from you with the goal of launching malware attacks or driving recipients to pages that look legitimate but are designed to steal credentials and misdirect monetary donations.

DMARC removes guesswork from the receiver’s handling of emails from non-authoritative email servers, reducing the user’s exposure to potentially fraudulent and harmful messages. A DMARC policy allows a sender to indicate that their emails are protected by Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and/or DomainKeys Identified Message (DKIM), both of which are industry-recognized email authentication techniques.
